Galleries - Birds - Flamed Bowerbird

Scientific Name: Sericulus ardens

The scientific name for this bird describes it as being composed of burning silk. I cant think of a better way to describe the intense glowing quality of the feathers of this exquisite bird. This shy and usually solitary bowerbird is an inhabitant of the rainforest of the lowlands and foothills of southern New Guinea.
